Not sure how this came to mind, i just felt the urge to paint a lion head, and the rest followed. I got a bit carried away with the details, i wanted him to look simpler but there he is, almost fully rendered.
Also i am quit proud of how he turned out, didn't imagine him that way.
Enjoy:

Ghost Rider - Apocalypse
Tonight the Apocalypse took place somewhere in an imaginative City.
While searching for shapes to have something stirr my mind for painting, i suddenly got me a city sillhoutte. The skull was the obvious choice to hang in the air. But it seemed a bit lost, so i added the flames and some in the background, a bit smoke and violá, there was a Ghost Rider painting.
I left the jawbone away on purpose, just if somebody is wondering.

Vader
This night comes an image from far far away. A little Sketch to end the day.
Done in Painter. I love that programm, you can mess around so much in it and don't get your hands or anything else dirty.
I had an image in mind of Vader standing in smoke, steam, fog or something like that with his lightsaber glowing and just this as a lightsource.
Well, i did it in 20 minutes, just a quicky for the night.
Battle Cat
Today back to Masters of the Univers. Did the Wallpaper in the back yesterday and thought, there could be a kind of bust in front of it. I sketched something, and went to bed. But i had the mask of Battle Cat in mind for a longer time, and today i did it. That's it, took about an hour... way too long for just a warm up, but style change and having to look at the reference... anyways, enjoy the Helmet of Battle Cat:
And a Detail, to show the wallpaper texture in the back:

Peter Cushing - The Van Helsing Legacy
Yeah, he was a great actor.
When i started this image, i didn't know it was leading me to this, first i did the wallpaper, experimented a little, then i thought, i could hang a frame in front of it. And what do i put in there? A painting, no... draw something? So i came to the conclusion that only one guy would fit there tonight. And that was Peter Cushing.
Here he is in 2 Versions and some steps.
Enjoy

Black Cauldron - Taran und der Zauberkessel
The Black Cauldron from the movie from Disney.
In germany the title is: Taran und der Zauberkessel
I saw it in theatres when it came out and it was really scary. But it is one of my favourite movies from Disney, closely followed by "The Sword in the Stone", the story of Arthur and how he became king of England. But back to the illustration now, the Black Cauldron, namegiver for the movie it wasn't seen very much in the flic.
The Animation of the movie was great and overall the art and style were very different from other disney movies to that date.
Loved the movie, so here is a painting of the black Cauldron. Had to use a little image i found on the net for reference, though...
Took about 30 Minutes and is my warm up for today.
Enjoy:

One Two, Freddy comes for you
Yes, this little bathscene was fun, not only to paint, but to watch in the movie A Nightmare on Elm Street. The Original, the remake... wasn't really necessary.
I am not that happy with it, it's got some nice elements, but the outcome is not that good as i would have wished. But it was just a quick thing anyways.
Enjoy.
And a 3D version:

What's a Magneto?
My good night drawing for today.
I always liked the character Magneto. Not his killing, but his power and the way he was portrait, a villain but not really a villain. With this character Marvel showed that there is really "a certain point of view", and thats what came across and facinated me.
The first time i saw him was in a Tradepaperback of the X-MEN, on the cover was the Uncanny X-MEN Cover 115, and inside were 4 stories if i am not mistaken...
Anyways, that was the first time i read the X-MEN and the art was awesome. Up until now i love the work John Burne and the team did there. Sadly his newer works don't have that look anymore. Wonder why that is...
But i get carried away, enjoy:

Manta Ray
Had a picture in my mind of this sea animal. I like those creatures familiar to the sharks. They are so beautiful and they "fly" through the oceans with such grace...
So i went with this image. I know, there are similar images and i didn't invent the wheel again, but i like the view and it felt right to paint.

New Year
Okay, the new year is in full throttle with all those war shit and terrorism going on, and flood and stuff...
So i try in my little spare time to have fun and create something that makes me and hopefully other people smile.
This is a little sketch of Conan in a Cartoony style for a little project that is going on. More on this in the coming months. Months? Plural? Yes,... sadly.
